LEGCO Empowers Young Learners Through Corporate Social Responsibility
As part of our commitment to corporate social responsibility, Lesotho Electricity Generation Company (LEGCO) has taken decisive measures to support students in need at Raliemere Primary School. Recognizing the challenges faced by some students whose parents are unable to afford basic necessities, LEGCO provided over 28 pairs of school shoes to benefit underprivileged children, along with sanitary towels to support young girls who struggle to attend school during their periods.
This initiative was not just about providing essential materials; it was also about inspiring young learners by emphasizing the importance of education and encouraging them to pursue their dreams with confidence.
Speaking at the event, Mr. Patlo Sekabi, on behalf of LEGCO management, highlighted the significance of corporate social responsibility in making a meaningful impact. He expressed that bringing smiles to those in need and restoring hope to the less fortunate is a vital part of the company’s mission. He further assured that this would not be the last initiative, as LEGCO remains committed to supporting communities in similar ways across different areas.
On behalf of the school, Principal Mrs. Matseliso Mathibela extended heartfelt gratitude to LEGCO for their generosity. She emphasized that the donation of shoes and sanitary towels would make a significant difference in the lives of disadvantaged students, ensuring they feel included and confident alongside their peers.
At LEGCO, we remain dedicated to fostering positive change and uplifting communities through meaningful social initiatives.
